More Christmas Decorations

I like my prelit Christmas treee. It was so easy. At first I wasn't sure, but after I stuck my red berries in it I was happy. The red NOEL hanging on the wall to the right is one I made at a macrame class Dot and I took, and it's hung in the living room every Christmas for probably 35 years. This year I placed it in the dining room. Pardon the out of place chair, but it was in the way of the tree for the picture.

This darling Let It Snow Snowman is my Christmas bonus from Julie this year. I've had my NOEL macrame hanging here, where you come in the front door, for maybe 35 years? What a rut I'm in. And I love this hanging here. It's so cute.

The nutcrackers have had various homes over the past Christmases, but this is the first time they've ever been on the landing. They must be wondering where in the world this flowery wallpaper came from - they've never seen it before.

This vase of berries sat on the mantel the last few years, so this year I put it in the bathroom.

Christmas Mantel

Been awhile since I've posted, so I decided to show you my pretty mantel decorated for Christmas. I've had these Merry Christmas blocks for at least 20 years, and this is the first time I've not put them on the hutch. When deciding not to use greenery and lights on the mantel this year, I thought I'd put the blocks here, also. Then I found these candles Saturday, just what I'd been looking for, to use in place of the lights. My decorating is done except for putting the ornaments on the tree, and that may wait until tomorrow morning.

Another Afternoon With Jill

I picked Jill up at school today, and as usual, she didn't fail to entertain. When it was almost time to take her home, she had an idea. "I have a good idea, something we haven't done for a long time. Let's stop at Walgreens and get a snack after we get Erin." It's something we used to do after getting Erin's allergy shot. I told her we weren't picking Erin up today. "Well, we could stop and get a snack anyway." So of course, we got a snack at Walgreens and took one to Erin, also.

Also in the Walgreen's parking lot we saw a woman driving a car with a poodle on her lap, the dog hanging out the driver's window. Jill, of course, was taken with how cute the dog was. I told her, yes, that sure is a cute dog, but that's not a very safe way to drive a car. Jill told me, "well, I don't think the dog is driving."
