Sometimes It's The Little Things

Sometimes it's the little things in life that drive a person crazy. If you've been reading Bobby's latest blog entries, you know he went off and joined the Navy at an early age - handled it well. Shipped off to Vietnam - handled it well. He supported a family of 5 - the big things never threw him. He lost his job at Coca Cola, which never should have happened - he handled it with class. He worked long, hard hours at Toyota - handled it well. However, picking out shampoo seems to drive him nuts. How many times have I heard: " I don't want to add curl or straighten my hair, or restore moisture or add any kind of balance to my hair, or rejuvenate the color; I just want to get my hair clean. Why can't they just make regular shampoo?"

Christmas Holidays

A few photos from the holidays, including the sleepover when Erin and Jill were putting on a show in the basement family room, dinner at KT's, Christmas Day and Mark's and Kim's, and opening gifts the day after Christmas and our house.

Six-legged Reindeer

.This deer has "six" legs!!! I've blogged about one breakfast conversation we had last Sunday morning. Well, when our conversation was about Grandpa Claus working in his workshop, Dub and Linda were apparently impressed. When we received our Christmas card from them, turns out they added a little art work of their own to the card. We loved it.

Breakfast Conversation

This past Sunday morning when we went to breakfast with three other couples at Wild Eggs, the conversation turned to BB guns. One of the couples there was Bill and Kathy R, and Bill told us that Kathy had a BB gun. Now, if Bill had told us that he was the one with the gun, no one would have expressed surprise, but since it was Kathy's gun, I immediately asked her what she did with her BB gun. You can imagine the reaction when she told us she shoots squirrels. Bobby immediately shook her hand, and presto, Bobby has a new best friend.

Silly Erin

Last night we met Mark & Kim, Erin & Jill, at the Summit for their Christmas at Westport Village, where they lit the tree, Santa came, etc. Bobby or I will probably post a few more pictures about our evening, but this one is regarding a short conversation Kim and Erin had while we were having dinner.

It was a very cold night and we were going to be outside a lot, but Erin chose to wear anklet socks under her jeans instead of knee socks, which would have kept her legs warmer. When sitting in the restaurant, you could see Erin's bare legs at the bottom, and Kim told Erin, "Erin, just looking at your legs makes me feel cold." Without missing a beat, and with a smile on her face, Erin said, "Then don't look."
